JOHN ENZ, Now in his 21st year as Artistic Director of YOCJ and Conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra, Mr. Enz holds a Master's Degree in cello performance and music education from Temple University. He completed undergraduate studies at Goshen College, Indiana, with further study at both the University of Michigan and the Interlochen Center for the Arts. He is currently an orchestra director in the West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North, and he serves as a facilitator for the district's Music Department. PHILLIP PUGH, Assistant Director of the program and Conductor of the Pro Arte and String Preparatory Orchestras, holds a Master's Degree in music theory from Temple University where he studied violin with Helen Kwalwasser, Larry Grieka and Julian Meyer. He also studied Suzuki pedagogy with Linda Fiore and has attended numerous Suzuki seminars. Mr. Pugh free-lances in the Greater Princeton area and teaches at the West Windsor-Plainsboro Millstone River School. Mr. Pugh has been with the orchestra for 19 years.

BRIAN WOODWARD, the conductor of The Wind Symphony and the Brass Choir of the Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey, is a graduate of the College of New Jersey and holds a degree in trumpet performance and music education. In addition to soloing and performing with the Eastern Wind Ensemble, Mr. Woodward freelances in the Greater Princeton area and teaches at the West Windsor-Plainsboro Community Middle School. Mr. Woodward has been with YOCJ since 1999. info@yocj.org |

MARK BENCIVENGO, director of the Percussion Ensemble, is a graduate of the College of New Jersey and holds a BM degree in music education and a MM degree in percussion performance. Mr. Bencivengo conducts and teaches band at the West Windsor Plainsboro High School North. He is a freelance percussionist in the Central Jersey Area, and plays regularly with the Nassau Brass and the Garden State Symphonic Band. Mr. Bencivengo has been with YOCJ since 1996. info@yocj.org |

RICHARD HODGES, classical saxophonist, has appeared as soloist in Europe, Canada, and throughout the United States. While specializing in the music of contemporary French composers, he has also premiered works by composers from the United States and Japan. Recent performances include his debut recital in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and a performance at the World Saxophone Congress in Montreal, Canada. A graduate of Wichita State University, Mr. Hodges holds a Master’s degree from the University of Mississippi and has done additional graduate work at Indiana University and Columbia University. His former teachers include Eugene Rousseau and Lawrence Teal. He has served on the faculties of Indiana University, Columbia University, and the University of Mississippi. Along with pianist John Forconi, Mr. Hodges released his first CD The Road Not Taken: French Saxophone Masterpieces in 2001. Mr. Hodges has been with YOCJ since 1996.info@yocj.org |

IVY HAGA, our woodwind choir coach and director, is completing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in bassoon performance at Rutgers University, where she also holds a masters degree in bassoon performance. Ms. Haga is on faculty at Westminster Conservatory and Lawrenceville School, and plays bassoon for Princeton Symphony's educational outreach program, BRAVO!. She performs extensively throughout the area as a member of the wind trio, Sonora Winds, and with numerous other chamber ensembles and orchestras.
