Woodwind Program
About The Woodwind Program
Our Woodwind Choir consists of middle school and high school flute, clarinet, oboe, and bassoon students. Scott Collins is the conductor.
Our Symphonic Woodwinds consist of high school flute, clarinet, oboe, and bassoon students. Barbara Witmer is the conductor.
The Woodwind Choir performs with YOCJ’s other small ensemble groups at a concert each semester. Members are also part of YOCJ’s Wind Symphony. The repertoire includes music from classical to modern composers, such as Weep O Mine Eyes by John Bennet, a Mozart Divertimento arranged by Harry Gee, & Norman Cazden’s Waltz No. 1.
The Symphonic Woodwinds also perform at the small ensemble concerts each semester. These students are part of YOCJ’s Symphonic Orchestra. The repertoire includes many styles of music, including such selections as Marcel Poot’s Mosaique, Andrey Rubtsov’s Bagatelles for Woodwind Quartet, and Henri Mateau’s Serenade.
