About The Pro Arte Orchestra
The Pro Arte Orchestra (PAO), also under the baton of Phillip Pugh, is Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey’s middle level string orchestra.
PAO not only performs standard string orchestra literature but also combines with the Wind Symphony on each concert to perform as a full symphonic orchestra. Sample repertoire includes Finlandia by Sibelius, Verdi’s Overture to Nabucco, Haydn’s Symphony No. 8, and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8. Recently, the strings of the Pro Arte Orchestra have performed such repertoire as Dag Wiren’s Serenade for Strings, and Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances No. 3.
Rehearsals are Tuesdays, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
